The bible gives believers a clear mandate: “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware” (I Corinthians 12.1). Even as clear as that is, there is still a profound ignorance by so many Christian leaders, churches, parachurches and mission organizations that are not teaching and applying the spiritual gifts of God’s people to ministry. When this is not done, the body cannot realize what it is called to do, “…according to the proper working of each individual part, causing the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love” (Ephesians 4.16).Bruce Bugbee’s call compelled him to launch Network Ministries International in 1993 to equip leaders and organize ministry teams around the God-given spiritual gifts, ministry passions and personal style of every Christ-follower.Network was the award-winning resource and process that created a new paradigm that has either informed, impacted or been the model for most of the spiritual gifts materials available today. As other resources were developed and published, there was a growing need for Bruce to coach, consult, train and further develop needed resources. This gave birth to Bruce Bugbee & Associates where he works and serves along side like-minded equipping leaders who are equipping servers to serve (Ephesians 4.11-12).

A brief look at Bruce Bugbee’s journey… He was raised in an unchurched family in southern California. After attending Young Life and the Crystal Cathedral, he received Christ at the age of 19. While growing in the Lord at Calvary Chapel, he responded to God’s call to full-time ministry. Graduating from Westmont College and Fuller Seminary, he led student ministries in several churches in the west and midwest. After serving in the regional office of a mainline denomination, Bruce joined the staff at Willow Creek Community Church where he was Pastoral Care Director, Internship Coordinator and most passionately developed and led the Network ministry. He published Network, an award-winning equipping resource and a number of other titles in 14 languages (for complete list, see Expanded Bio below). Bruce trained Rick Warren’s staff at Saddleback Church in Network where they developed S.H.A.P.E. Many other churches have been influenced with Network’s integration of passions, gifts and style.
